Inspection Technician

We are currently seeking an Inspection Technician to join our Mine Maintenance department at Rosebel Gold Mines. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting inspections and ensuring the proper functioning of our Caterpillar and Komatsu mining equipment fleet.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Perform regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify any defects or malfunctions.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
• Generate / adjust the backlogs with the appropriate priority and resources required to fix any substandard condition found during the inspections.
• Perform random audits to the Equipment on PM or PCR to verify that the backlogs information is accurate and to validate if there are unplanned works that were not detected during the inspections.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Document inspection findings and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
• Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Secondary High school diploma - NATIN/AMTO Mechanical trade (WTB).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Caterpillar and Komatsu mining equipment.
• Strong knowledge of inspection techniques and procedures.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Valid Surinamese driver's license.
• Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
• Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break Rosebel Gold Mines in Brokopondo.
