The Operations Manager is a key member of the executive team responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills to ensure the smooth functioning of business operations, maximize productivity, and minimize costs. The Operations Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop, implement, and execute operational strategies to achieve business objectives, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to optimize business processes, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Staff Management: Supervise and manage a team of operations staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between departments, communicate effectively with employees, customers, and external stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks, develop contingency plans, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all operational activities meet quality standards, and implement quality control measures to prevent errors and defects.
- Supply Chain Management: Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory management systems to ensure accurate tracking, storage, and distribution of goods.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and report on operational data to inform business decisions and drive improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing quality.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Experience with budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Certification in operations management, such as Six Sigma or APICS.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Familiarity with lean management principles.
- Strong knowledge of business process re-engineering and workflow management.
